Welcome!
On the corner of Broadway and Berry, in downtown Fort Wayne, sits an old stone church. Disciples of Jesus Christ have gathered at Trinity Episcopal Church for more than 175 years. They have served those in need, and each other; they have planted new churches, and they have worked together to help bring to fruition God’s dream for all of God’s children. This old stone church houses a rich and storied history, but our history does not define the present… or our future.
At Trinity, all people are welcomed and encouraged to grow into the full image of God. Regardless of gender identity, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, race, or physical ability we believe that God loves you… no exceptions. We have more questions than answers, but we commit to journeying together on the path of love that is the way of Jesus Christ. We believe, but pray for the strength to overcome our disbelief. We are sinners with pasts, and saints in the making.
Life is made of moments; whether we are 7 months, 17 years, 37 years, or 77 years old, we all need each other to live fully in these moments. We need one another to become peacemakers in a violent world. To become healers, rather than people who bring harm. To become holy listeners, rather than those who judge without compassion.
There are so many ways to get involved at Trinity, and you are welcome to do as much or as little as you wish. Just know that there are book groups, women’s groups, Bible studies…numerous volunteer and outreach opportunities. Some specific opportunities for fellowship, formation, and service include… young adult ministry, trinity laundry ministry, altar guild, children’s chapel and formation, partnerships with local elementary schools, usher’s ministry, lector’s, group spiritual direction, and much more.
